NoPebbleMine-1I’m pleased to announce our Red Gold showing in Denver on Friday, January 8th. I’ve been working hard with Sportsman Alliance for Alaska and Trout Unlimited leaders to put together a great event featuring one of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen. Red Gold will be a free show at Cervantes’ Lounge Friday during both the International Sportsman Expo at the downtown Denver Convention Center, and the Fly Fishing Show at the Denver Merchandise Mart.

We’re expecting a few people from the documentary to come to Denver and make appearances at both the events and especially the movie showing.

In addition to the movie showing Friday night, I’ll be working at the ISE and FFS booths during the week – tweeting live from @nopebblemine and @kyleindenver. Come by and see me!

Details on times, location, light rail, etc. are below. Be sure to check out the trailer, too. Come out and enjoy a free show and support a great cause! If you need any other information, don’t hesitate to contact me.

From Felt Soul Media and Trout Unlimited, Red Gold is an award winning documentary about the Bristol Bay region of southwest Alaska. The area is home to the Kvichak and Nushagak rivers, the two most prolific sockeye salmon runs left in the world. Two mining companies have partnered to propose one of the largest open-pit mines at the headwaters of the two rivers. Despite promises of a clean project by officials, the accident-plagued history of hard rock mining has wrought one of the biggest land use battles Alaska has ever faced. Documenting the growing unrest among native, commercial and sport fisherman, Red Gold is a portrait of a unique way of life that won’t survive if the salmon don’t return with Bristol Bay’s tide.

Come watch Red Gold!
